Jesse shines in a perfect-fit hospitality role

Jesse (age 24) from Far North Qld is one of our Inclusive Employment Australia participants with a passion for food and hospitality. We’re proud to share that he’s landed a position in the industry thanks to the support provided by his Job Coaches Aisling and Jillian. The role is a perfect fit for his high energy and desire for daily variety.

Jillian reflects:

“Watching Jesse grow and succeed has been incredibly rewarding. I’m confident that he will continue to achieve great things.”

Where Jesse started

  • Passion for food & hospitality, but no clear path forward
  • Negative influences impacting his wellbeing & self-confidence
  • Needed support to identify his strengths and set realistic goals

Aisling and Jillian worked with Jesse on:

  • Strengths and interest mapping
  • Tailored career development plan
  • Skill-building workshops
  • Resume writing
  • Mock interviews
  • A fresh start by moving into his own flat

“Aisling’s support has been invaluable. She helped me see my own worth and taught me how to convey that to potential employers.”

Jesse landed a role as a Bartender & Kitchen Hand!
His employers have noticed:

  • Enthusiasm
  • Strong skill set
  • Willingness to learn

Jesse is currently thriving in this role that perfectly aligns with his personality and neurodivergence:

  • Working behind the bar
  • Dinner service
  • Stocktake responsibilities
  • Saying yes to every opportunity that comes his way
