When Leilani came to us, she felt suffocated by expectations and disconnected from her purpose.
Stuck in a hospitality job that felt deeply misaligned, she was also carrying the weight of her parents’ expectations — making it even harder to imagine a future that felt truly her own.
Her Job Coach Kiarni knew that before anything else, Leilani needed to rebuild her confidence.
By helping Leilani recognise her strengths and trust her own instincts, Kiarni supported her to reconnect with her values — and begin imagining a future shaped by her own goals.
Together, they explored her interests, personality traits, and natural strengths.
Through that process, something became clear: Leilani wanted a career centred on helping people.
She enrolled in her Certificate III in Individual Support and set her sights on becoming a support worker.
With support from an Allied Health Clinician on our team, Leilani developed a more positive mindset. Our team also provided practical assistance — helping cover travel costs to work and supporting her with work clothing and shoes.
As her confidence grew, so did her opportunities.
Leilani stepped into an Assistant Manager role — and found herself doing something she loved even before finishing her qualification: mentoring and supporting her junior team members.
We’re proud of how far she has come. And we can’t wait to see what’s next.
Note: Leilani is a participant in the Workforce Australia program.
