Most of all, we advocate for you. We speak to employers to provide context and explain how we can support you in the job.
Case Study: Catherine
Catherine is one of our Inclusive Employment Australia customers whose path to work wasn’t a straight line.
Over two years, she built her skills through volunteering. That experience eventually became a paid lifeguard role. But she still had her sights set on retail.
When an opportunity with Big W presented itself, our team were excited to put Catherine forward. However, we recognised that the video interview format wasn’t ideal as it didn’t allow Catherine’s personality to shine through.
So, we advocated for an in-person conversation instead. We took Catherine into the store to meet the managers directly so that they could assess Catherine directly. Catherine nailed her interview!
Our team being there also meant we could reassure the employer on supports available and provide context.
Big W’s managers knew exactly what their store needed, and we knew exactly what Catherine could do. We worked together to build a role around Catherine’s strengths.
Today, Catherine is thriving at Big W and still lifeguarding part-time. We’re incredibly proud because her story shows what’s possible when we build the path together.
