When Tenille first came to us, she was in a tough place. Her mental health was taking a toll, and with it went her confidence and motivation to think about finding work. Additionally, she was facing the pressure of juggling parenting responsibilities.
Job searching can feel impossible when you’re simply trying to get through each day.
Our Workforce Australia team understood these challenges and worked with Tenille.
When a position with Coles supermarket came up, we guided her to make sure she stood the best chance of success. We helped with the application process and made sure she attended a site tour at Coles to become familiar with the workplace environment.
For someone rebuilding their confidence, walking into an unfamiliar environment can feel overwhelming — so seeing the workplace beforehand meant she could familiarise herself with the surroundings, ease her anxiety, and walk in on her first day feeling prepared rather than unsettled.
More than just a pay check, it’s given her back her confidence and drive. Her mental health has improved in ways that remind us just how powerful meaningful work can be for our overall wellbeing.
Tenille has now commenced employment with Coles. The role offers casual hours, allowing her to balance work with her responsibilities as a mother.
