Sometimes, the difference between standing still and stepping into a new career is something as simple as a police check, a tank of fuel, and someone who believes you can do it.
Catherine, a participant in the Inclusive Employment Australia program, was preparing to begin her Security Course — but two practical barriers stood in her way: completing her police check and accessing fuel assistance to attend training.
With the support of her Job Coach, both needs were addressed quickly and practically — helping Catherine stay focused on her goal, rather than being held back by obstacles outside of her control.
Since May, Catherine has started working in the security industry, turning her preparation and determination into meaningful employment.
Her journey reflects our belief in people: that with the right encouragement, practical support, and confidence behind them, people can take real steps towards a better future. It also demonstrates the real-world impact of our work — not just helping someone complete a course or access assistance, but supporting them to build confidence, enter an industry, and create lasting change in their life.
