How Virtual Reality Taught Dave to Manage Chronic Pain

By December 5, 2024July 17th, 2025No Comments1 min read

Virtual Reality (VR) is transforming how we approach chronic pain – one of the most common challenges MAX sees with our DES customers.

After spending 30 years as a professional painter, Dave’s life took a drastic turn when a fall from a roof left him with a fractured lumbar bone and chronic pain. Though his injury healed, the pain persisted, affecting every part of his daily life. For the past three years, Dave has been unable to return to work, and the loss of employment has deeply impacted his confidence.

Through a 10-week Pilot Program conducted by MAX Health, he discovered a groundbreaking approach using VR technology, combined with expert support from the MAX Health team.

This innovative method, backed by 25 years of research from chronic pain expert Dr. Lorimer Moseley, teaches participants how pain works and equips them with the tools to manage it.

With innovative solutions like VR, MAX is empowering our customers to take control of their chronic pain and move toward re-entering the workforce.
