Third time lucky for Troy

By October 7, 2021July 24th, 2025No Comments2 min read

Troy was a jobseeker connected to our Richmond centre. He started working with Employment Consultant Jacqui Lamb in December 2020.

Jacqui came highly recommended to Troy by a friend of his who she was assisting in finding employment.

After transferring from another employment service, in only four months, things have turned around for Troy. He had some significant barriers to overcome, such as being in prison, no car or licence and struggled to get work independently, but Jacqui supported him through the process.

Jacqui says despite the barriers, Troy had a winning attitude.

“Troy was very keen to gain employment. He always spoke to us if he had any issues and completed Post Placement support every day for a month. He was such a pleasure to help.”

He tried two jobs, but it was third time lucky. Troy started as a forklift driver, and now he is a team leader, and his employer couldn’t be happier with his skill and positive attitude.

Through our Employment Fund, Jacqui assisted Troy with work boots, PPE clothing, transportation and drivers licence costs.

Troy is hugely grateful to Jobfind and has said main times how happy he is with our service and how we have helped to change his life and #unleashpotential. And he is making his mum proud every day – and that means the most to him!
