Work-readiness looks different for everyone. At AKG, our Inclusive Employment Australia team works with you to become work-ready. What that looks like, and how long it takes, is different for every person.

Belinda’s story

Take Belinda, one of our customers who was recently awarded the inaugural Employee of the Month at Coles Spring Farm.

When Belinda first came to us, she was going through a challenging period, and this affected her confidence to find work.

AKG Job Coach Sarah recognised that that it was important to work at Belinda’s pace.

“The focus was on building her confidence by helping her recognise her strengths so that she could feel confident about returning to work,” Sarah explains.

It wasn’t until Belinda was ready to step back into work that our team connected her to Coles Spring Farm.

AKG Partnerships Manager Andrew spent months laying the groundwork by keeping in contact with the store manager to make sure everything was set up for Belinda to succeed.

Helping you find your way to work

Here’s what we bring together to find your way to work:

Employment coaching

Our Job Coaches help you set goals, prepare resumes, apply for jobs, and prepare for interviews.

Connecting you with local employers

We have a network of national employers who are committed to inclusive hiring.

Community connections

Our teams live and work in the communities they serve. They bring life and lived experience, connection to community services, and a genuine understanding of local labour markets, employer needs and community insights.

We can connect you to support systems you need.

Health and wellbeing

We address housing, health, mental wellbeing and life challenges first. You need to have these things stable before you can find work.

Our Allied Health Clinicians provide professional support to you before and during employment, so that you’re not doing it alone.

Training and upskilling

You may not always have the skills you need to reach your goals. AKG has a strong foundation in training, whether that’s through our own Registered Training Organisation (Max Solutions) or our connections to local training and education providers.

We also create work experience and volunteering placements through our established employer partnerships.

Disability employment knowledge

Our team work together WITH you to build a tailored plan. We currently work with 180 different disabilities, injuries, and mental and physical health conditions. This shared knowledge across our national network means our teams are at the forefront of disability support.
